A3

Design loads match the plant actually being installed.

What a pass looks like: Load schedule showing imposed load plus the real equipment weights and support reactions; matches the mechanical equipment schedule.
A4

Cyclonic sites only (north Qld, northern WA, NT): cyclone design addressed.

What a pass looks like: Statement that debris impact and cyclic loading are covered, including screens and louvres.
A5

Designing engineer is qualified and registered where required in your state.

What a pass looks like: Registration / credential number on the documents (see state box); checked on the state register.
A6Suggested

Supplier holds current public liability and professional indemnity cover, and states the product warranty.

B1

Signed design certificate from the engineer.

What a pass looks like: Certificate named in the state box, signed and dated, referencing this project and the drawing revisions.
B2

Calculations and signed structural drawings; revision matches the approved building documents.

What a pass looks like: Drawing register shows the same revision as the certifier-approved set.
B3

Roof structure check: the metal roof frame can carry the platform loads.

What a pass looks like: Engineer's statement covering purlins, rafters and primary frame, with load path to primary structure (not roof sheeting alone).
B4

Fixing and connection details.

What a pass looks like: Fastener type, size and spacing; hold-down details; corrosion protection class; roof penetration and flashing details.
B5

Product compliance evidence for proprietary components.

What a pass looks like: Test reports or evidence of suitability (NCC Part A5); Queensland Form 73 if used; material grades and galvanising certificates.
B6

Access and edge-protection design to AS 1657:2018.

What a pass looks like: Guardrail, toe board, stair, ladder and gate details; edge protection.
B7

Installation instructions with engineer hold points.

What a pass looks like: Written fixing sequence, torque values, and a list of items the engineer must inspect before they are covered.
B8

Maintenance and inspection requirements.

What a pass looks like: Supplier maintenance advice and inspection intervals for the platform and its fixings.
B9Suggested

Rated load plate specified for the platform.

What a pass looks like: Drawing shows a durable sign stating the rated imposed load (e.g. 2.5 or 5.0 kPa) and maximum unit weight.
C

On delivery — before unloading and installing

0/5
C1

Components match shop drawings.

What a pass looks like: Part numbers, member sizes, material grade and finish checked against the approved shop drawings.
C2

No damage or defects.

What a pass looks like: No bent members, damaged galvanising or coating, cracked welds; items labelled and traceable.
C3

Fixings, flashings and isolation supplied as specified.

What a pass looks like: Quantities and types match the fixing schedule; no unapproved substitutions.
C4

Any substitution approved in writing by the engineer.

What a pass looks like: Signed engineer approval on file before the substituted item is used.
C5Suggested

Fasteners and metals are compatible with the roof sheeting and keep its warranty.

What a pass looks like: Roof sheeting manufacturer's compatibility guidance followed (no copper/lead/stainless contact or runoff onto COLORBOND® / ZINCALUME®).
D

Before install — site readiness

0/5
D1

Building approval in place and the platform is in the approved documents.

What a pass looks like: Approval / permit sighted; certifier aware of the engineer's inspection hold points.
D2

Roof frame as built matches the design.

What a pass looks like: Purlin spacing and rafter positions checked on site; any variation referred to the engineer before fixing.
D3

Roof work safety plan in place.

What a pass looks like: SWMS covering edge protection, fragile surfaces and rescue (Vic: OHS Regulations; WA: WHS (General) Regulations 2022).
D4

Final plant selection matches what the platform was designed for.

What a pass looks like: Equipment make, model, weight and footprint match the load schedule in A3.
D5Suggested

Lifting plan for materials and plant, with roof set-down limits.

What a pass looks like: Crane / hoist plan and a note of where bundles may be stacked without overloading purlins.

Stop and escalate to the engineer / certifier if

  • — A certificate is unsigned, undated, for a different project, or the engineer cannot show required registration.
  • — The design does not state site-specific wind region and limits, or the site is outside the system's stated limits.
  • — Delivered parts, fixings or finishes differ from the drawings and there is no written engineer approval.
  • — The roof frame as built does not match the design, or fixings would go into sheeting only.
  • — Any hold point has been missed or fixings are already concealed.
